I'm taking another Sec 3 Pure Bio student for tuition! :D

n it's $50 for a 2hr session per week!!

n the BEST thing is she's staying in POTONG PASIR!! (which is near to my place!)

YEAH!

So tt adds up to 5 students in total for tutoring :)

Here's another update:

I'm helping Ms Agnes Lim (My sec sch chem teacher) teach 5 VERY VERY WEAK students (with chem knowledge assumed "0")chemistry every friday aft sch in the afternoon.

I went to bishan n yishun to 拜拜 my ancestors today..

n gosh!

It rained the entire day today :(

I was holding onto the umbrella n mountains of hell notes for my father while he burnt them..yep..n i'm totally drenched fr head to toes..

n noticed tt ppl in e MRT r like staring @ me..perhaps becoz of e smoky smell n e wet clothes..

Blah blah..not my fault anyway..

Went to give bio tuition in the evening..earn 40 bucks in juz 1.5hrs! YEAH! Happy! :D

Mr Ng TC, HOD for Mathematics in Beatty Sec has just passed away today. His wake will be at block 46 Toa Payoh Lor 5 till Wednesday.

I was on the phone when i feel the awkward silence around me.

Mr Shaw, our principal, called for an urgent meeting today, canceling all after sch lessons to announce the news to the staff. It was a sudden death. No one knew anything, whether he's been suffering from any condition or anything at all. Watching my beloved teachers whom i respected cry was as heartbreaking as the news.

Though Mr Ng didn't teach me when i was a student in Beatty, the news saddens me. How can someone who was well n healthy last fri passed away today? All his belongings, books, jacket are still on his desk! It's juz too sudden..

Death, i find, is unpredictable.

We all knew tt someday,we'll die. But when? When would our loved ones leave us? or rather, when will we leave the world ourselves, leaving our loved ones behind? The thought of being separated from them forever is unbearable. My family, my friends and people who entered my life at some point or another..

Honestly, i thought of Death when i was in Primary 3. I thought of what is it like to die, to stop breathing, to lie in a coffin... I was frightened and helpless ...How would it feels like, to be burned? There's no "you" in the world.. yet the earth will still continue to spin, people have to carry on with their lives.. without you.

n..i thought to myself, will i be forgotten?

When i think about it now, i realise that yes, i'll be forgotten, but it'll no longer matter to me because i'm dead. What really matters is how we live our lives when we're alive. Happiness and fulfillment in life have different meanings in different people.

For me, it'll be to live life and impact others with a sincere heart :)

i decided not to go for AJ Idol afterall..

Went home stright aftersch at 1.45pm yest..

Partly because i dun want this delicious bag of dark chocolate i bought for my sis to melt..

I miss SYC!

was listening to the "Country road" song a moment ago..

Miss the time we clapped and sang along together in the Audi..

So much memories..

betting if the Kazaks will lose their luggage in the arrival airport..

the trip to OBS..the wind blowing so strongly..

n rmb the time we circled around the bonfire and play the "present unwrapping game"?

sitting on the recycling bin at the NeWater taking photos..

the exhibition where we go around each booth, fasciated by each of their cultures, costumes, instruments and of course, FOOD!

putting on makeups for Cultural night..

all the GG sessions..

especially the last night when i talk about a joke for more than half an hour..

But most of all, i remembered the warmth that everyone shown and gave me..

this is the kind of warmth radiating in the camp..

They make me realize how simple friendship can be. Remember what is it like to care, to appreciate and to thank each other..

Looking back at those photos we took together, i saw for the first time something special on everyone's face..

The smiles in their eyes.. of pure joy, sincerity and love.

All these photos never fail to make me smile no matter how many times i look at them..

I would give anything to have them back..

Purpose of my life

I'm feeling extremely demoralize coz of my bio SPA..

screw all of the 3 which i had done..

the good thing is,i screw different set of skills (skill C,skill D,skill B).

So,this implies that the damage done is not as bad coz it's kinda spread out..

But C'mon!

Who look at it this way?

the fact is "i screw my bio spa!"

Honestly,i'm totally upset about this whole thing.I wanna be a doctor.I have seen,met,heard bout many who cheat patients of their money,or rather,due to their misinterpretation,caused many suffering to the patient and their loved ones.

The thought of being a doctor came about when i was in Secondary 3,when one of my seniors shared her story with us. Her father was hospitalized due to some heart disease and need to have an operation. According to the doctor, the operation is a small one and the patient will become better after having the operation. This does not happen to be the case. Well, a few days after my friend's father had the operation, he started to have some complications and soon after, passed away. Fortunately, her aunt is the head of nurse in some other hospital and she knew that her brother could not suddenly passed away after undergoing such operation, unless, there's some complication during the surgery process itself. So, they decided to send him for some tests-those whereby they open up the dead bodies and examine the cause of death. The result shows that the doctor had inserted the tube a few cm deeper than need be, damaging the wall of the blood vessel.

Well, if not for the nurse, i guess the family could had juz accepted it as natural death and would never know what had taken the life of their loved ones away.

I mean what I'm trying to say here is that perhaps if I can become a doctor, with access to the knowledge, I'll be able to protect those around me by making sure that the decisions they make are well-informed.

Haize, but with this saddening experience of bio spa, i really doubt if i can make it in to the medical field.

That's when i looked up and saw a quote pasted on my notice brd:

"The ONLY true failure is when you STOP TRYING!"

This quote is there ever since i was in Secondary 2?

How weird it is that i had never notice it for the past few years. Perhaps i was too preoccupied with all my sch work, council events, social networking that i had never really stop to take a good look at where i am.

What is the purpose of my life?

Is it to get good grades and a high-flying job? To be the best? To have everything in the world?

Sometimes i really wonder..Do i live for others or myself?

We are all fighting hard, competing with one another, stretching ourselves to the limits..

but it seems that in the midst of all these, we-or at least me- had lost our direction and purpose of life.

It dawns on me now that it does not matter how badly i did for my bio spa.

I can sit there and cry about it all day but my tears ain't gonna change anything.

The damage is done. Face it. The only direction is forward.

All i can do now is to do my best for the next 2 spa and my theory paper, which is like 80%?

There's still hope.

I know that I'll never give up on myself, never.

At the end of the day, i want to leave the exam hall knowing that i did my best and could not had done better.

I really hope tt there'll be cheerleading this year.

Cheerleading was in at first,but aft today's meeting wif e PE dept,some of e hse caps feedback tt they hav zero sign-ups rate as everyone seems to say tt they're busy wif SYF cming up,sports competition n so on..

Well,i'll definitely fight for having Cheerleading for 3 simple reasons:

1)Track & Field will be renamed as sports carnival and cheerleading will be e finale.So w/o it,sports carnival will not be all that fun n maybe to e extend of being boring.

2)I rely alot on Fiona for getting e cheerleading team and i know tt she's trying very best to get all e past cheerleaders to join.There's about 8 ppl confirm joining and e rest are interested.I will really really hate e feeling of telling her tt cheerleading is canceled aft all e efforts tt she put in.

3)As a hse captain,i feel tt i'm not doing enough for the house specially so tt i do not hav any adhoc tis year.U know,i can't run fast or win anything for my house.The least i can do is to cheerlead.

As much as i want to hav cheerleading,I can understand perfectly how e rest of e hse caps feel.Their adhocs happen to be tis year which means tt they r very very busy n stress during this period.n wat's more is tt there's zero sign-ups for their house.

I don't know.

I can't so be selfish.I can't hav cheerleading juz becoz my house want to.

The welfare of e house caps is my top priority.I hate seeing Sze wei being so stress up,Jo being so tired..how i wish i can share their workload n put e smile back to their faces..

If u r thinking tt House Caps r damn lucky or something close to tt line,let me correct u now.House caps r not as cool as you think they r..lots of efforts behind tt whole damn films n shows.

You nv imagine wat things we have to DO BY OURSELVES.Design of alliance flag,every single one of e og flag..cheers..costumes..ALL BY MYSELF!

Worst,despite having 2 house comm. membs,"due to the lack of ppl in council",they r all down with something which we call "extended ahoc"(how lame!)..how ironic tt e teachers told us tt house comm. members r not allowed to be the main ic of an ahoc..so too be honest,i was damn unhappy tt meikee was the log ic..to add on to my misery,i was practically shock when meikee told me tt she had to do e orientation backdrop..Wat e hell?!

So i check wif yihui,he told me tt someone else was in charge of the backdrop,not meikee..BUT HELLO!!anyone who is sane n practical will go to meikee if they need "help" to draw e backdrop.."help" is a very ironic word as helping wif e backdrop is simply drawing it out,which is exactly EVERYTHING!!!Curse it!

Next,u hav to consider tt,consider tis..eg.u can't trouble e OGLs too much..u can ask around for help IF only they agree to help..can't everyone juz be more understanding n put themselves into others' shoes b4 they make plans?okay,i agree my schedule is abit(as if!)MORE hectic than e rest..it being packed wif D&D,SYC,BA event,Open house..not to mention House day..

This a damn fun camp!

Judging fr e ppl in e cultural night grp,i think tt tis camp gonna rox my toes!We're going to stay in a 4 stars hotel,eat meals together,go shopping aft our day activities anywhere we want late into e night,plus lots of "traffic light" games n "truth or dare"..FOR 7 FULL DAYS!!Wee!

Stitches

On 21st of Nov,Steph went to National Skin Centre to check on her skin infection on her leg.

The doctor used a pen a draw out a circle(radius of 1cm)on the infected part and said,

"It's difficult to tell what infection it is.We'll hav to cut out this part n send it for test."

n Steph said,

"What will happen if i dun cut it out?i hav dance rehearsal till 13 Dec n tt's very impt to me.."

"Well,if it get bigger..n if it's too late.."

So Steph looked at her calendar and counted 2 weeks, as she can jump and run plus dance after 2 wks according to the doc. when they take out the stitches.

4 rehearsals.She'll miss 4 rehearsals!plus,no SWIMMING or Exercising during the 2 weeks.This is torturing!

But then again,the infection seems to be laughing at her,daring her to do it..

Bloody hell!

"okay.I'll do it"

Now as i was typing,the stitches still hurt..alot!

Well,I wanna say a very big sorry to my family for me throwing tantrums during this period of time coz' i'm really very upset with the stitches,all the washing and cleaning..not forgetting all the things tt i can't eat and do.

The worst thing is,i'm supposed to be reviewed by the doctor aft 2 weeks on 4th Dec..which means wat exactly is my infection and the treaments(medicine n/surgery)..

Honestly,i'm damn scare..

It's really COOL..but u know..there's like damn difficult dance steps:(

Digging my own grave

Sometimes i feel as if i'm digging my own grave.

My holiday is completely gone!

TOTALLY!

Signed up for Science Focus,which is like a sort of science research prog.

Reason?I'm thinking of being a Life science researcher in the future.

So while the rest of my peers take a break aft their OP exams,i hav to wake up at 7+am for 3 days and attend lectures and electives modules at the Science Faculty of National University of Singapore.

I wonder how i'm going to survive the 3 days!

On 12 Nov,the lecture of Scientific Method & Experiment Design by Dr Roland Su will start in the afternoon n end in e evening(total of 3hrs for day 1..not bad..but e thing is,i bet i'll spend most of my time finding my way around in NUS).

13 Nov is my ultimate challenge-a total of 8hr20mins of lecture!It's on Life Sciences which include the PCR lecture,PCR wkshop,Lab tour(RMBR) and demo(EM facility).Sound cool yeah?hah..i bet it'll be damn fun!Though it's a super long day(more than half a day in case u haven't notice),i'm confident tt my passion will bring me thru!

But then again,14 Nov is gonna be a diaster!A 3hr30mins course on Computing followed by Physics lecture for another 3hr20mins..(bang,i died instantly when i saw tt i'm in for physics.)Did i juz said PHYSICS?OMG!it's like meeting my old primary sch classmates.I used to like physics(i took triple science in sec sch)becoz of very inspiring teachers,Mr Amos Goh and Ms Lydia.But eversince i got a B3 for tt subj for my 'O' level,i bc doubtful of my capbility towards phy.Perhaps i'm not e type to study bout unseen forces or simply,non-living things.So this 3hr20mins wkshop gonna kill me.Well,i shall juz close my eyes n let it pass.Hee!

So apart for academic development,i'm in for 2 camps for both mths,each lasting for an entire wk.

Discovering Camp.Which i signed up as a group facilitator for young children.Some sort of volunteering?hah..i dun know y i'm so on about volunteering.Perhaps is becoz of the Nacli Camp-Camp Imagine! i attended with my council frens,which obj is to encourage volunteerism in youth?Maybe maybe maybe..But i'm very sure tt e spirit of volunteerism flow in my blood.

Every sat spent at the Riding for Disabled Association,helping the children correct their postures on horses nv fails to leave me feeling satisfied and happy.Of course in e process of helping those children,i'm surprise at how compassionate the society is.Teenagers my age r there helping as well,not for CIP hrs but simply for e joy of it.Honestly,I'm really very touched.

hah..oso,u can't talk bout RDA w/o talking bout e horses!U'll be surprise hw we interact wif one another!hah..Chester likes ppl singing n in response to tt,he'll always move his ears up n down..Harley is my fave,b4 u bend down to clean his hoof,he'll lift up his leg for u..oso he'll bite the mouth piece obediently when u put it in front of him..hw great a horse can he be?!hah..Larie is the naughty grey horse tt likes to bully me,always trying to bite ppl..i muz really roar at him to hav him under control.Ruby will like u once u give her food to eat..

Me n Harley!

Well,juz as much as we understand e horses,they understand us too.When u're inexperience and sort of scare of them,they can sense it n tend to exert their authority n order u around..hah..but once u understand and bc more familar wif them,u'll find tt they're juz like ppl,each having an unique character and personality.For eg,Some of them love ppl to take their time grooming them n some hates grooming and want to get it over n done wif.Some r enemies to one another n muz be kept apart at all cost,for eg. blossom and chester.Some love massage at a particular area and some like to pose for photos,eg. Shermus.Hard to believe?Hah..

Ppl in RDA r very nice!They dun mind teaching me again n again if i forgot hw to tag e horse aft my long break studying for promos n always having gathering n bbq.Really nice ppl to make fren wif ya!

Next exiciting camp in dec is SUNBURST YOUTH CAMP!

OMG OMG OMG!

I really really wanna,fr e bottom of my heart,thank all the council teachers for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to go for tis camp..Every yr,our sch will only send the council P n VP,as e camp is meant for 'top' student leaders,quoting fr e guy who did e briefing..but since lena is not a singaporean(hey pls dun mistaken..tis camp is not nationalist or anything..hah..it's juz tt in tis camp there'll be a sort of friendly competition betw countries like malaysia n so on..so u can't expect lena to complete against her own country right?lol!),e teachers gave me a chance to go in her place..

This camp is unlike others tt i've been b4..Beside meeting with student leaders from JC and Poly all over singapore,we'll be playing host to youth leaders fr other countries such as Kazakhstan,South Korea,China,India,Myanmar,Laos,Philippines,Thailand,Cambodia,Vietnam,Brunei,Malaysia and lastly,Indonesia.

N where r we staying?hah..RELC International Hotel!(4 stars)But of course,beside all these,wat really make this camp interesting is the prog itself..n i shall talk bout this in my next post.:)

D&d is getting slightly buzy with Ren Zhi going off for his study break.I'll be doing the preparation work for log comm.,basically juz wat an I/C hav to do..hah..but perhaps mb my comm. is too helpful,i still dun feel tt buzy YET!(LOL!Ms ewe gonna kill me again!:D)
